Connecting Through Language: Denden's Tigrigna Classes

Young children gather round a table to learn the language Tigrigna
Students Learning Tigrigna

At Denden, we’re proud to offer Tigrigna classes that connect our youth with their heritage and help them build a sense of belonging. Every Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, students gather at St. Stephanus Church to learn not only the Tigrigna language but also the cultural traditions that make it so meaningful. These classes are open to anyone aged 5 and above, welcoming everyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the Tigrigna language and culture.

Each session is packed with engaging lessons on the Tigrigna alphabet, essential vocabulary, and common conversational phrases. Beyond language, students explore traditional stories and customs, enriching their connection to their heritage. Learning their mother tongue is a vital part of building identity, and we’re thrilled to see students feel a stronger sense of pride in their roots as they make new friends and embrace the culture.

  • Current Session: Started in September and runs through December 21, 2024.

  • Next Session: Begins in January 2025 (exact date to be announced).

If you’re interested in registering your child for our next session, please fill out this registration form. For questions, feel free to reach out to us by email.

Join us in helping the next generation embrace their language and culture with pride!
